The Balaisani was more than I expected. For the grand sum of around fifty US I experienced close to five star facilities and service. The room was cleaned and sheets changed diligently, the room itself was comfortable and the pool was pleasant and set by the sea. Location was quiet and security good. The only con was that the hotel is set away from the action, which could be a pro depending on your point of view. They put on a good breakfast too (real bacon).
This is a very good hotel. The breakfasts were great and the room was fine. The staff was very efficient. When we went to breakfast we would find that they had finished cleaning up our room when we returned. Kuta is not too far away. And a trip to Ubud is only about an hour and twenty minutes away. We very much enjoyed the weather and the shopping. It is true that the traffic in Bali moves very slowly, but this is not the fault of the hotel. Everyone we met in Bali was agreeable and hospitable..
Overall our 5 day stay at Grand Balisani Suites was relaxing and pleasant and is to be recommended to travellers who prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Ubud. The quality of the Garden Suites is high and the rooms are particularly clean and spacious with quality fittings. The hotel will arrange for car and driver hire and this is to be recommended as it is impossible to walk along the nearby roads due to lack of sidewalks and the volume of traffic at all times. Though Grand Balisani is at the end of a relatively quiet street completely away fom traffic and noise. Definitely recommended and definitely worth another visit!
Overall, this is a pleasant hotel, with very nice rooms and pool area. The only downside however, is that it is very faraway from the shopping, dining and nightlife - the hotel offers shuttle bus service into Kuta. For people who'd just like to relax and not do much, this place is perfect as it's right by the beach, yet very very quiet.
This place is a hidden gem in Batubelig Beach. It's a bit far away from Kuta and the rest of the more popular sites in Bali, but with cab prices being what they are in Bali we didn't care. The hotel is right on the beach to, and you can't beat that. Breakfast was awesome every day; they had ready to make pancakes and omletes as well as tons of bread, fruit, etc. The rooms weren't the cleanest but it was so easy to overlook it because we knew we weren't paying top dollar to stay there. The staff was great too. I would definately stay here again if I came back to Bali.
This lovely old hotel is set right on the beach and is a fair way away from the bustle of Seminyak shops (about 15,000 rupiah by taxi). There is also a free shuttle from the hotel. Despite this we found the hotel delightful and would stay there again. The linen ran out over the holiday period, but I doubt that is a regular feature. The staff are warm friendly, unfailing courteous and helpful. This is a great spot for children. A ten minute walk along the beach to the Legian, Oberoi, KuDeTa etc all very accessible. Good restaurants also close which is good, because the food at the hotel was an abomination even the indonesian selections. Any chef in Bali who can't produce a passable chicken satay or nasi goreng should give up. We tried a few selections and they all ended in the bin. I have never done that before in Bali ever! Breakfast is fine thank God. Over Christmas I would have to say this hotel wasn't particularly cheap, but the rest of the year it is probably great value provided you don't ever eat there, except for breakfast.
Overall, if you are looking for a four-star hotel on the beach, but not wanting to spend a lot of money, this is an excellent choice. The facilities are good without being outstanding. A nice pool, rooms were clean and nice, provided a decent breakfast. The hotel was a little away from the heart of Seminyak but still only a 10 minute taxi ride from the restaurants, or a 15 minute walk down the beach. I would recommend the hotel to friends and family
